Me Made May 2020 week 1 roundup

I thought this year I’d do a quick weekly round up of what I wore for each day of Me Made May. I’m hoping it’ll help me identify popular items/ styles and gaps in my wardrobe. If you read my pledge, you will know that I’m trying to wear at least 1 me made item every day and document it. I’m pleased to say I managed to wear something me made each day and only forgot to document it once! Of the seven days so far, I’ve spent one day in work and the rest working from home or it’s been the weekend.

Here’s what I wore…

1st May – Rosy Pena Chloe sweatshirt dress hack.

mmmay20 day 1

This is one of my favourite makes that gets a lot of wear. It’s perfect for lazy days or when you want to get dressed but can’t be bothered to make a lot of effort. It’s warm and cosy, perfect for the cloudy day that was the 1st of May. It’s really simple to make, I just lengthened the sweatshirt and then made it as normal.

2nd May – Tilly & the Buttons stripy Nora

mmmay20 day 2

I think the Chloe sweatshirt and Nora top are my most made and worn makes so it seems fitting that they are what I wore for the first two days of the month. I love this pattern and this stripy version in Tilly’s fabric gets a lot of wear.

3rd May – Tilly & the Buttons Juno top and Stella Joggers set

mmmay20 day 3

I had a lazy day as it was Sunday and spent the day in my pj set I made. This was a recent lockdown make and it’s a great set. I love the fabric from Sew Me Sunshine.

4th May – Papercut Patterns Palisade Pants

mmmay20 day 4

This was my day in work so these trousers were perfect. It was quite warm but I don’t want to show my legs of at the moment as they are so pasty! It’s a good alternative to jeans. I love the elasticated waist. I’m all about comfort!

5th & 6th May – Tilly & the Buttons Bertha cardigan

mmmay20 day 5

A working from home day both days so I chucked on this cardigan to keep me warm. Simple, comfy and cosy, perfect for my days! I forgot to take a photo for the 6th! It was actually really nice weather but I still like to be warm and cosy inside the house.

7th May – Tilly & the Buttons Tabitha T-shirt

mmmay20 day 7

This is my latest make, hot off the sewing machine the night before! I needed some more jersey tees so I whipped this up in the most beautiful jersey fabric. I absolutely love it! I already have plans for more!

Conclusion

What have I learnt from this week? I wear a lot of Tilly’s patterns! Also, I’m all about comfort! To be fair, I already knew that. I think I’m realising I need more me made bottoms – trousers, skirts, shorts, cullottes and possibly a few more summery dresses. I’m already thinking about making some cullottes to match with tops I have. Maybe Flint cullottes or Winslow cullottes?
