Christmas and Winter sewing plans

It’s been a while since I’ve updated you all on my sewing plans so I thought I’d share what I’ve currently got planned. In the past, I haven’t always been good at sticking with plans but I’m trying to be more realistic with time and have gotten slightly better at sticking with plans. I’ve still got a bit of a backlog of things I’ve made to blog about but I love sharing plans with you all!

ByhandLondon – Hannah Dress – This dress pattern has recently been released from By Hand London and as soon as I saw it, I knew I wanted to make one. I’ve decided to make one as my Christmas party dress for my work do. The fabric I’ve chosen is a black and gold dots double gauze. I’d bought the fabric for a different project but hadn’t got round to it so thought it’d make a lovely Hannah dress. I’m already over half way through making it and will have it finished by the weekend!

Rosy Pena – Chloe sweatshirt – I’m not making many Christmas gifts this year but I am making one. My friend is very polite and appears to love my sewing, so she often requests handmade gifts for presents. I made her a sweatshirt a year ago and she loves and wears it often (phew!) so has asked for another this year. I’ve also got a couple of pieces of sweatshirt fabrics for myself so plan to make myself another and maybe another dress version.

Tilly & the Buttons – Cleo Pinafore – I’ve decided I want a black pinafore to wear as I’ve gotten into wearing dresses and tights much more this winter. I’ve bought some black cord to make a Cleo with.

Simplicity 8513 bodysuit – I love a bodysuit and I couldn’t resist this pattern when I saw it. I like all the styles but I think I’m going to make the wrap style one first. I bought some gorgeous teal colour stretch velvet to make it with as I had a vision of a fantastic Christmas night out outfit of this bodysuit and leather skirt. Hopefully, I’ll get this made soon!

Helen’s Closet – Pona Jacket – I love a smart casual blazer style jacket so I snapped up this pattern pretty much as soon as it was released. I’ve bought a lovely Abraham Moon tweed wool fabric with flecks of colour in it to make it from. I want to make the longer version but I don’t quite have enough fabric for it so it will be as long as I can make it!

I think that’s enough to be getting on with. I have loads more ideas swirling around in my head and I’m also setting myself my own sewing challenge for the new year so I shall be sharing details soon!
