I’ve managed to sneak in a few quick and easy sewing projects over the past couple of months! These are all things I have made before but I love them that much, I made more! As good as an involved, big project is, there’s nothing more satisfying than a quick and simple make! God bless a jersey top!
I’m not going to review the patterns in this post, as I’ve already reviewed them previously. I’ll just talk briefly about each!
This top is from Sew Over It’s Capsule wardrobe City Break book. It’s the first project in it and is the simplest. I previously made a Molly dress and loved it so much, I decided I needed a top. It’s super quick – took like an hour to make and I love the contrast sleeve. The fabric is a viscose jersey (I think). I made a straight size 14 but I probably could have sized down, although I do like the casual fit. I think I’ll try another in the 12 to compare. The only alteration I made was rather than a curved hem (which I find tricky to do neatly) I squared off the bottom to make a straight hem. It’s a bit longer than intended but I don’t mind that!
I bet you’re all fed up of me talking about this pattern. I love it! The Chloe sweatshirt by Rosy Pena Patterns is my most made pattern and one of my favourite items of clothing. I made one as a belated gift for a friend and another for me! I saw the mint green sweatshirt fabric and decided I needed that colour in my life! Nothing new to add… I made a size medium. No alterations. I now have 3 of these sweatshirts in my wardrobe and will probably add more soon.
Paola Turtleneck top
I love a turtleneck top and every time I see a rib knit I immediately want to make one! My latest make is a sparkly navy Paola by Named Clothing in a rib knit from Sewisfaction. This top has got me feeling all festive. It’s definitely a Christmas day contender. It was really hard to photograph to show off the sparkles and do the top justice. I made another size 14 but I added an inch to the length. This is a better length on me but I think I could maybe add a bit more if I make another. My first one was in a black & white stripe and now I have a sparkly one!
