How is it the end of March already? We’re already a quarter of the way through the year! How has this happened?
So March wasn’t a mega successful month for sewing. I only completed one make but made progress on two others. I also ordered a ton of fabric and patterns! I’ve spent so much money that I’m on a strict spending ban until I use at least half of my fabric stash. The good news is that I now have the patterns and fabric for all of my 2018 make nine, as well as several others.
Here’s what I completed this month and what I plan to make in April…
My one and only completed make was my Bibi pinafore dress from Tilly & the Buttons new book Stretch. This was an impulse make but I’m really pleased with it. A really quick and easy make.
I made progress on my Sew Over It Cocoon coat as well. The coat is assembled but I still need to add the lining. I’ve lost a bit of interest in this as it’s taking me longer than planned and I’m finding it a bit trickier than I anticipated.
I also started my Kalle shirt dress by Closet Case patterns. This was March’s Sew My Style pattern so I’m a bit behind. Never mind!
So… my April plans obviously include finishing both the cocoon coat and the Kalle shirt dress. I’m make the Kalle shirt dress in a lovely tropical leaf print cotton lawn so I’m hoping for warmer weather soon!
I’m also hoping to make another Rosy Pena Patterns Chloe sweatshirt for my friend as a very belated Christmas present. As it’s Sew Over It’s selfless sewing month in April, I thought it’s the perfect opportunity to finally complete this!
I’ve got numerous other potential makes but I may start a Sew Over It Eve dress. I’ve got a beautiful floral crepe to use. I’m going to a wedding in May so I’m hoping to wear it for that. Wish me luck!
What are you making in April?
