February makes and March Plans

I was super productive in February, a lot better than I thought I would be. I took full advantage of half term week and had a little sew-cation (at home!).

I planned on making another sweatshirt, the cocoon coat and the Blackwood cardigan and I’m pleased to say I made 2 sweatshirts, the cardigan and started the coat, as well as finishing the Heather dress. Go me! All are perfect snuggly, winter makes for the snow we’ve had this week!

So far on my coat, I’ve attached the shoulder and side seams, made the sleeves, attached the facing and I’m working on the collar. I’m enjoying making it but it makes me scratch my head a bit! I’m making it in a charcoal melton wool with a royal blue cotton lawn lining.

Onto my plans for March…

I actually don’t have much definitely planned. I’ve got lots of plans in my head and projects lined up to make, it just comes down to the order I fancy making them. And there’s always a good chance that inspiration will strike and I’ll make an unplanned item!

I definitely plan on finishing my cocoon coat in the next week or so.

I also am going to join in with the Sew My Style make this month, which is the Kalle shirt dress from Closet Case files. This is also on my 2018 Make Nine. I think I’m going to make the dress version but may use snaps. I don’t know how to do buttons! I’ve ordered a lovely jungle leaf print cotton lawn to use. I’m hoping it’s not too busy for the pattern!

These are the only definite makes but I’ve got loads more projects ready to go! I might make another sweatshirt, a Southbank sweater dress, Rowan top, Molly Top, Ultimate trousers, another Cleo dress or an Ogden cami! Who knows!
