I’m bumping both of these posts into 1 this month as they will both be short!
July has been a rubbish month for sewing. I had lots of grand plans but then life got in the way. Booo to being a grown up! I had plans to make at least 4 things but I only managed two. One of these was a very last minute item!
Both of these were actually really simple makes but the choice of fabric makes them trickier. I love both patterns but the kimono is much easier to fit! I plan on getting lots of wear out of it on holiday!
I’m being VERY realistic this month!
I’m away for the majority of August so I know sewing will be minimal! I have two things that I want to make or at least start.
Megan Nielsen- Rowan top
This has been on my sewing list for the last few months. I have the fabric, the pieces are cut out, I just need to sew the damn thing! I really really really want to get this made by the end of August!
I’ve ordered this pattern to take part in Simplicity’s Summer Sewing Challenge. I saw this last year and chickened out but I’ve decided this year I’m going to give it a bash. I love this pattern, especially Abi from The Crafty Pin Up’s versions of the top. I’m not quite sure what I’m going to do with it. At the moment I’m thinking the top and maybe the skirt but we shall see. The competition closes in September so I’m hoping to have at least ordered some fabric and maybe started sewing by the end of August. Wish me luck! Is anybody else taking part?
