Autumn/ Winter sewing plans

So previous experience has taught me that I’m not good at sticking to my plans, but I still enjoy making them! There has been so many amazing patterns and fabric available lately that it’s becoming a little overwhelming just how many ideas I have! I wish I had the skills, time and money to constantly sew. It feels like I would have to be sewing 24/7 to make everything that I like at the moment!

As that isn’t an option, I’ve picked a few things that are high up on my list to make over the next few months.

First up is another Named Shadi Knit skirt. I bloody love this pattern! It’s so quick and easy to make! I timed the last one I made, and not counting cutting out, it took just over an hour. If I was good at hand sewing hems, it would be loads quicker! I’ve bought this lace bonded scuba from Fabric Godmother to make it in, but I also fancy making a few others, including these two scuba’s from Fabworks.

Next on my list is a Tilly and the Buttons Cleo Pinafore dress. This pattern is so cute and so on trend! I’m hanging on to see if she releases any more of the aubergine needlecord kits. If she does, I’m straight on that! If not, I’ll probably buy the pattern and some denim.

I recently took advantage of Sew Over It’s black Friday sale and bought My Capsule Wardrobe City Break ebook. I’ve been eyeing this up since it was released and love all the patterns in here! I’m deciding whether to start with the Erin skirt or Molly dress. I really want a stripy Molly dress! I go on a lot of city breaks so this book will get a lot of use!

The biggie that I WILL be making is Named Patterns Elizabeth dress. This pattern is absolutely gorgeous! I plan on making it for my works Christmas party. I’ve already ordered the fabric and most of the supplies and have a few weeks to make it in. After careful consideration, I’m making it in black satin back crepe. I think this is the first thing I will have made that has had a deadline and been made for a specific occasion! I’m hoping it turns out ok!

The final thing on my list that I may or may not make are more Margot PJ’s. This is another dead easy and quick pattern to make and perfect for this time of year. I already have 2 pairs of brushed cotton checked ones but you can never have too many!
