Margot 2.0

I’ve FINALLY been able to find time to sew! Feels like forever!

My latest creation was another pair of Margot PJ bottoms from Tilly’s Love at First Stitch. The first ones were sooooo comfy, I decided I needed more in my life. It was also my first bit of unselfish sewing as I made a matching pair for my friend. I’ve been getting lots of compliments and requests from friends for skirts and PJs because they sometimes struggle to find any that fit nicely. That’s a huge compliment for me and something to think about for when my sewing skills improve.

My latest pair of PJ bottoms were again made from tartan brushed cotton. This time I chose the red royal stewart check from Calico Laine.

I made a size 5 again because I decided I do like them a bit baggy. Again, I used Lladybird’s hack to include a half elasticated waist but I used a few inches less elastic. I think I put 12 inches of 1.25 inch wide elastic in and sewed 20 inches of ribbon to either side. I then sewed the elastic to the side seams at either side (obviously it was inside) to make the back of the waist elasticated. It’s definitely a better fit than the last pair.

I do love how comfy and snuggly they are. I’m hoping to make some cotton lawn ones or cropped ones for the summer. I may never buy PJ bottoms again!

Now the question is… What shall I make next? I’m thinking either a crepe Megan dress or a black Georgia dress. Any thoughts?
